🌟 Meet our Employee of Excellence: Mike Callovi 🌟 If you spend time around our pools, chances are you’ve seen Mike Callovi keeping watch and greeting members with a friendly hello. Mike has been a lifeguard at the Kenosha YMCA for just over two years and is known for always stepping up for the team. Whether it’s picking up shifts, helping wherever needed, or coming in early to practice his skills, Mike brings dedication and reliability to every shift.
What Mike enjoys most about lifeguarding is the connections he builds with members. Seeing familiar faces and getting to know regulars helps make the Y feel like a true community. As Mike shares, it’s important that members feel cared for and connected, especially those who may rely on the Y for social interaction.
When he’s not on the lifeguard stand, Mike enjoys bicycling, weekend coffee rides with friends, and bringing his grandson to the Y.
👏 Thank you, Mike, for helping make the Kenosha YMCA a welcoming place for everyone. There’s truly No Place Like This Place!

• Healthy Tip of the Month •

As the days get longer, take advantage of the extra daylight to get moving. A quick walk, playing outside with your kids, or trying a new activity at the Y can boost energy, improve mood, and help shake off those winter blues.
Start small and keep it simple. Even 10–15 minutes of movement a day can make a difference. As the weather begins to warm up, it’s the perfect time to build healthy habits that will carry you into a strong, active spring and summer.
